2009 JIM BEAM SURFTAG Event- qualifier #3 Oceanside, California October 11th.

The surf was small but clean...1-3 feet and the contest was on. It was really small for the first round of the event, but the surf picked up throughout the day.

Here Benji Weatherly from "Team Man Sandwich" tags up with a fellow teammate in Round 2. I was on "Team Safety" with Wes Williams, Dan Hart, Brad Travers, and Allen "Jolian" Johnson.

A competitor blows out some tail in Round 2.The waves improved alot in the afternoon... the morning heats were small and inconsistent.

This was the tagging area. The format requires 5 team mates to catch 3 waves each in an hour. You catch 3 waves then tag the next team member. Its alot harder than it sounds!

There was alot of media at the event, so you may see the event on TV or some magazines. Check it out!
