THE PIER  PHOTOS BY WES WILLIAMS MARCH 2008

Its not some magical wave that surfers are going to fly around the world to get. Its just your average Pier wave.

The camera angle from the pier makes these photos. Its a unique angle that puts you right there.

It took me a while to get used to the summer-style surf, after one of the biggest recorded winters of surf.

Evening speed-blur

I like this photo. It looks like Im about to soar, although I think I floated it.

There were other surfers out, enjoying the average surf as well.

Wes managed to catch the action. The pier is really cool to shoot from.

This is about as close as you can get to a surfer without jumping in the water.

The wave was basically a close-out, but every once in a while you could get a section to punt off.

I managed to squeek into a few little nugs.

Somehow I found a few barrel visions, but weaving out of them was another story.

Wes said it looked like I sprayed the pier, and I know I was damn well trying. Time-lapse speed-blur.

   Anatomy of a knee-high curtback.

  Beautiful evening of surf.

Half-way through a 180 alley-oop.

Close-out surf can be fun if your in the mood.

Busting an air on a close-out is one of the hardest tricks to pull off. Crisp photo tho.
