A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CALIFORNIA SURFER RANDOM PHOTOGS MAY 2008

Hit Counter

A lonely yet grumpy old man walks along the beach, ignoring a moment of ocean beauty.

Here I sat before I surfed, wishing I had a photographer. It was so much fun out there... trust me.

In town snapping on it.

A photog did post up for about 15 minutes, but was lured by the sirens.

I busted what I could on the small gemstones, knowing the photog was going to paddle quick.

I love this image of my friend Kyle in the slot, me heading back out. It was shallow.

Paddling out.

The canvas was smooth and clear, and my brush was this 6'1" Vernor w/ suspension system.

I had my wings out, and I gave it a good punt. I give the photog props for jus being there.

... da landing.

I liked the lighting on this one. It was in the evening... also a shark feeding time in this area.

It was literally knee-high out there. Most photogs would not have shot, but look what they miss.

I was tripping on this shot! We were calling this the Bathtub Bar. My girl said I look like a witch!

I love surfing onto dry sand. Really!

OK... I was too fat to fit in this tiny barrel... but look at how nice the water is!

My brother was chucking buckets on the smallest waves. How does he do it at 240 lbs?

Like a rabbit, I like to hop around to get waves. This was a little friend I met on the road.

My friend got a little wrapped up in the shorebreak when I told her "paddle now!" My bad!

More shots from this day.

I surfed in the middle of town, somehow missing the crowds and hassle. I like this shot!@

The walls of Northern California can process you like no other. Pelican Bay.

JB, a novice photographer "almost" captured a sequence of the WK signature snap....

... but got a "before and after" shot! I still like the shots.. and the effort. Mahalos Jared!

A happy evening with good company.

Unidentified cruiser drives through a spot Im going to call "bird-dirt rock".

Evening shorebreak and south swell produced these few gems.

Another amazing evening, Santa Cruz style.
